About Tungnath, Chandrashila & Triyuginarayan

Tungnath and Chandrashila
Triyuginarayan Temple

Tungnath Temple, believed to be over a thousand years old, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and holds the honor of being the highest Shiva temple in the world. Just 1.5 km beyond is the scenic Chandrashila Peak, offering 360-degree views of the Himalayas. This peak is the final summit along the same ridge as the temple, and a small shrine sits on top.

Triyuginarayan Temple, a serene shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is believed to be the exact spot where Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati. A perpetual flame—Akhand Dhuni—burns in front of the temple, symbolizing the sacred fire of the divine wedding. The architecture mirrors Kedarnath, with beautiful statues of Vishnu, Lakshmi, and Saraswati inside.
